Wedding Daze

We truly are slap bang in the middle of all the wedding days - bang being the operative word here, given the fantastic firework display at the most recent wedding I spied happening this week. I'm lucky enough to live near a splendid wedding venue, the Cooden Beach Hotel, and there are weddings happening there almost every five minutes at the moment. The one I happily watched from my own back yard had the works - the gazebo was dressed to the nines, there was laughter, joy, merriment, fizz, cheering, dancing, children tumbling happily on the lawn - and of course, those fireworks.

Unfortunately, I wasn't officiating. The couple had chosen to engage a registrar, so all I could do was celebrate vicariously from my little garden, raising a glass of fizz to the happy couple, as has become my tradition since moving to Wedding Central. I love seeing the different wedding parties, celebrating two special people just beginning their forever journey of love. Of course, there's the dress, and the flowers, and the kiss, but my favourite part is when the ceremony itself comes to an end, and a tremendous cheer rises from the assembled group. There is nothing like that sound. It's wonderful - a real expression of congratulatory joy...and hope. Hope that the love they share on their wedding day carries over into the future, and for all time.
