All's Fayre in Love and Law

I've just been to my fourth wedding fayre and this time, I was struck by the number of couples who are so confused by the choices they have in planning what will probably turn out to be one of the best days of their lives. There are so many elements to a wedding day, but the elements that go to make a marriage are far fewer. All you need is love, and the law!

If you want the simplest ceremony there is, you can book an appointment at the register office, and ten minutes and £46* later, you're legally married with no fuss or bother at all, but if you do want a bit more fanfare and flourish, you still need to do the simple bit**, but then, with the help of a celebrant, you can create the day you want.

If you work with me, you will be able to determine the whole of the content of the ceremony from recreating your vows to getting Claire from Accounts to belt out 'I will always love you' by Whitney Houston (or Dolly Parton if you prefer the quieter version!). Hiring a celebrant instead of a registrar to officiate at your wedding is often a far more affordable option, so if you're looking to make a saving on the design of the ceremony itself without cutting corners at all, please do give me a call! Remember, a celebrant doesn't just recite words - a celebrant can make your dream wedding a reality!

*varies from county to county, but not by much

**everyone who wants a secular (non-religious) marriage needs to, by law, book the simple legal marriage ceremony, but they do NOT have to have a registrar at their venue once that is done, leaving you free to hire a celebrant!
